Cloud 9 v FlyQuest
Game 1
C9 jungler Blabber was playing from behind the from the beginning. He was routinely behind in both CS and exp.
This deficit led to FlyQuest being able to win early team fights. There were two back-to-back team fights over the second dragon at 13 minutes. They yielded three kills in the first skirmish and two kills in Cloud 9’s re-engage. In approximately one minute, FlyQuest earned five kills, Feat of Warfare, Cloud Drake, and took control of the gold lead. Blaber’s jungler opponent, Inspired, was two levels ahead of him after the sequence of fights.
FlyQuest’s ADC Massu quietly began snowballing his lead after the fights as well.
Just 20 minutes into the game, FlyQuest held a 2.0k gold lead and was on Soul Point. Cloud 9 was desperate to find even small victories.
Just a few more minutes and several picks later, it was over. C9 lost to FlyQuest in just 25 minutes.
Inspired was everywhere on the map and routinely beat Blaber to his own raptor camps. Massu had a fantastic game as well. He finished 6/0/6 and was masterful on his use Jhin to dictate team fights.
Game 2
Bwipo and Inspired worked together to secure multiple early kills onto Thanatos.
By 20 minutes, FlyQuest had a 7.5k gold lead, three dragons and led a 8-0 kill count.
After a clean ace to secure the Cloud Soul, FlyQuest closed the game in 27 minutes.
They proved to the LTA why they are the best team. Their coordination in setting up picks and in team fights was impeccable. Their communication and unselfish gameplay is a big reason why they were able to dominate the series.
The chemistry Bwipo and Inspired demonstrated this game is a testament of what team unity can accomplish. Both players were unstoppable today. They put up a very good showing and deserve to walk away with their reward of 1st place in the LTA heading into playoffs.
LYON v Dignitas
The stakes of this series are clear: Winner advances to the lower bracket of the playoffs and loser goes home for the remainder of the split.
Game 1
LYON secured five kills, Feat of Warfare, and a 1.8k gold lead 10 minutes into the game. Midlaner Saint secured a double kill and a substantial gold lead over Dignitas opponent Keine.
Dignitas was not out of the game just yet, but they had to find success soon in order to find their way back. Luckily for them, they were able to secure the Rift Herald as LYON was approaching from behind looking for a 4 v 5 team fight. Dignitas finds an engage onto ADC Hena and quickly eliminate one more before Licorice arrives to the uneven fight. This fight is precisely what Dignitas needed to get back into the match.
The rest of the game was a brawl with both teams trying to gain an advantage over the other. They went objective-for-objective just waiting for a chance to blow the game open.
The golden opportunity presented itself at 32 minutes when Dignitas overstepped and LYON’s Saint carried a team fight that killed three Dignitas members. LYON claimed the Baron and the Chemtech Drake as the rewards.
Dignitas was desperate to stop LYON from claiming their tier-2 in the top lane. With mere seconds left with in LYON’s Baron buff, they found a quick engage and kill on Saint and quickly turned into a 4-0 team fight victory.
From there, Dignitas was able to take control of the game defeating LYON in multiple high-stakes team fights and they closed the game in 40 minutes.
Game 2
Dignitas played a very slow, methodical early game. They secured First Blood 11 minutes into the game after securing three grubs.
LYON was more than happy to take things slow as their team comp out-scaled that of Dignitas. By mid-game LYON was slowly taking control of the map and was on soul point while edging out Dignitas in team fights. Once they obtained dragon soul at 28 minutes, they immediately wiped Dignitas and took the Baron as well.
LYON closed the game out just minutes later forcing game three in the elimination series.
Game 3
While teams typically take an elimination game slow, LYON and Dignitas were scrapping from the beginning. At 15 minutes, the kill count was tied 4-4, Dignitas had the Feat of Warfare, both early dragons, and a 1.3k gold lead. They were unafraid to aggressively engage in fights.
Dignitas held a small, but consistent lead throughout the rest of the game until they acquired Ocean Soul. That is when they began to slowly pull away and eventually end the series and LYON’s season at the 36-minute mark.
Dignitas was well-coordinated and maximized their abilities and opportunities of attack. They did not play scared as teams in an elimination game tend to do. They were rewarded with a placement in the lower bracket of the playoffs for their boldness.
